About Kim

Waterloo Photographer - About KimHello and Welcome!

I am a wife and a mom of 3 teens, and 2 Havanese puppies.  I love lattes, wine, homemade mojitos, daily yoga, morning walks and being barefoot in the grass!  Most mornings you can find me snuggling and training our puppies Rigby & Charlotte and practicing my yoga…Most evenings you can find me at the hockey arena with my children.

I serve the world by creating emotional imagery that tells stories for generations to come.  I want to evoke emotion and bring people together (even if only for a second) to stop and admire the awesomeness of the world through our families and little ones.  The world is crazy, hectic and some days insane…. if I can bring you back to what matters most and makes you happy when you glance at your portraits, I have done my job.

The first time I picked up a camera was when I was 16…I received a small film camera for Christmas that year and looking back, that camera was my most cherished gift.  It wasn’t however, until my first child was born, 18 years ago, that I realized how fascinated I was with the photography world.  I couldn’t then and still can’t get enough of wanting to freeze my kids in time, celebrate them in albums and share them with my family.

Since then, I have devoted much of my time to my photography craft, and that time has increased significantly over the past 15 years. I am a proud member and volunteer with the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC).   I have earned my Craftsman of Photographic Arts (CPA) as well as my Masters of Photographic Arts (MPA) with the PPOC and I have previously attained Accreditation in Newborn, Children & Infant and Family Portraiture, as well as Sports & Fine Art.

I feel strongly about getting those special memories out of the digital world and into your hands…yes, digital is great to have and keep (and I do offer them), but our children (and future grandchildren) are missing out on seeing and touching their history and reliving those memories!

One of my favourite things to do when I was little was to sit for hours in my Granny’s basement and flip through the wall sized bookcase of albums and learn as much as I could possibly get from Granny about my family.   Oh, and the hallway wall in Granny’s house that was filled with newborn, family, school and even wedding portraits!  I always stopped and checked out the framed portraits no matter how many times I had passed them before.

Even I am guilty for putting a disk or usb drive with images on it away safely in a drawer to get to later. Unfortunately for most, we never find time to revisit them, and those images are quickly forgotten.

When you visit my studio for a no obligation consultation, you will get to see and touch the very unique handcrafted keepsake items and Wall Decor that I have carefully chosen to be what I feels is the best way to celebrate and share your moments and milestones.

Capturing images that portray everyone’s unique personality takes time, I am not one to rush through a photography session. I prefer to create a relaxed and personal atmosphere where everyone is comfortable and able to be themselves, however long this takes to ensure I get your moments captured.

“I immerse myself in my photography preparation, the shoot itself as well as the post processing of each and every photograph, until you are happy.”

That is my promise…Capturing & Preserving Memories to Celebrate Forever
